Two New Homesites Purchased at The Founders Club

By  |

Sales momentum is building at The Founders Club, with the recent sale of two homesites in the sought-after Sarasota community featuring a Robert Trent Jones, Jr.–designed championship golf course.

London Bay Homes will be the builder for both homesites through The Founders Club Builder Program, which features a curated selection of Sarasota’s finest luxury homebuilders. In addition to London Bay Homes, buyers can choose to work with top-rated builders Anchor Builders, Arthur Rutenberg-Nelson Homes, Lee Wetherington Homes and Nutter Custom Construction to create their new custom home.

One set of new buyers, who were introduced to both The Founders Club and London Bay Homes through their Realtor, appreciated the ability to personalize their home in a community with the amenities and setting they desired. The fact that they could become members at a challenging golf course with no tee times required proved a big draw.

“They loved the larger estate homesites with golf and water views,” said Melissa Dovey, a sales executive at The Founders Club. “They were very happy they could work with a custom builder who can give them exactly what they’re looking for in a home. They are looking forward to enjoying holidays with their family in their new home.”

These two new London Bay homes will join a pair of custom estates already under construction at The Founders Club. Nutter Custom Construction is building an elegant coastal contemporary estate home featuring three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths and nearly 3,700 square feet under air. Scheduled for completion in summer 2020, it offers an open floor plan with a study, piano room and great room. An expansive outdoor living space includes a large covered veranda, outdoor kitchen and oversized pool deck, while a detached 1,000-square-foot, three-car garage with a true motor court entry and gracious circular driveway will welcome guests to the new home.

“The Founders Club is uniquely one of the few true custom-build communities in the area, and the homebuyers quickly realized it was the perfect setting,” said T.J. Nutter, president of Nutter Custom Construction. “The width of the homesites allow a lot of flexibility in the home’s design, and the new residence will offer privacy and preserve views along with a glimpse of the golf course.”

Lee Wetherington Homes recently began construction on a West Indies–style estate home featuring 4,821 square feet of indoor living space plus 1,635 square feet of outdoor living area. Situated on the fifth hole of The Founders Golf Club and scheduled for completion in October 2020, it will include a luxurious master suite with his and hers master baths, three additional bedroom suites and an expansive kitchen, dining room and great room forming the heart of the home.

A den and bonus room will provide incredible flexibility for the homeowners to use in a variety of ways. Pocket doors will lead from the bonus room to the outdoor dining area, part of an enticing 1,093-square-foot alfresco space that will include a summer kitchen and bar and custom swimming pool. A three-car garage and Florida basement will offer plenty of storage space for the homeowners.

“Our design professional sat down with our clients and asked them a series of questions to help determine what the key elements were that we need to incorporate into their home,” said Gregg Carlson, CEO of Lee Wetherington Homes. “Many of those questions revolved around how our clients like to relax, how they like to congregate, how they like to dine and how they like to entertain. The feedback provided by our clients was drawn—and in many cases re-drawn—to fine tune the home before arriving at the final design.”

Taking advantage of the Builder Program at The Founders Club means gaining access to the community’s intimate setting of 262 homesites. Ranging from nearly half to almost two acres, the array of homesite sizes offers possibilities for accommodating homes from 2,200 to more than 6,000 square feet. Home and homesite packages at The Founders Club start in the $700,000s, and there are no CDD fees.

“Creating a home that reflects the uniqueness of its owner is a hallmark of The Founders Club,” said Steve Walker, senior project manager for London Bay Homes, who manages all sales and marketing for the community. “We guide homebuyers in selecting their dream combination of the right builder, picture-perfect homesite and dream home design that suits them best.”

Whether enjoying a round of golf or gathering on the veranda overlooking the 18th hole, residents of The Founders Club enjoy an array of amenities, including the classic Golf Hall, which hosts a full calendar of activities and events, with the purchase of an optional Club membership. Har-Tru tennis courts, basketball and sand volleyball courts and a picnic pavilion are available to all residents.

And just outside the gates, residents now have quick access through Lorraine Road to a host of activities, restaurants and events in Lakewood Ranch. Less than 20 minutes away, acclaimed local restaurants, boutiques and arts and cultural venues in downtown Sarasota also offer convenient options for vibrant living, along with the pristine, white-sand beaches along the Gulf of Mexico.
