By  |

January 8, 2024 – Sarasota

Internationally renowned violinist Alexander Markov will perform at Art Avenue Gallery in the Crossings at Siesta Key Mall on Friday, February 23 at 6 PM.  He will be joined by acclaimed pianist Heike Doerr and artist-violinist Natasha Turovsky.  The trio will play Carmen Fantasy in honor of this season’s production of Carmen at the Sarasota Opera.  A meet-the-artists reception will follow the performance.  Concert tickets are $50.

Alexander Markov was born in Moscow and emigrated to the United States with his accomplished violinist parents, Marina and Albert Markov.  Markov made his New York debut at Carnegie Hall in 1983 and was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 1987.  He has performed worldwide as a soloist with some of the world’s most celebrated orchestras including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic, and Orchestre de Paris.  Markov is particularly known for his sensational rendition of the 24 Paganini Caprices.

Heike Doerr hails from Stuttgart, Germany and has performed extensively in both Europe and the United States.  Natasha Turovsky, a celebrated professional violinist, has shared the stage with Markov in the past and is looking forward to joining him and Doerr for this event.
