March 31, 2021 – Venice

At an outdoor, physically distanced event this evening in Venice Theatre’s parking lot, Producing Executive Director Murray Chase and General Manager/Director of Diversity Kristofer Geddie revealed the theatre’s 72nd season of shows. After an extremely abbreviated 71st season due to the coronavirus pandemic, this came as much-needed good news to VT’s patrons, donors, and volunteers.

Chase and Geddie described each show with great enthusiasm, and Geddie was joined by Michelle Kasanofsky and Kim Kollar in a few numbers from the upcoming musicals. The evening was capped off by the whole audience singing along to “Count Your Blessings” from the theatre’s original production of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

The 72nd season will be available for purchase on Thursday April 1. In all, the theatre will be producing 17 shows from July 2021 through June 2022 as well as presenting a robust selection of concerts and special events and its Annual Summer Cabaret Festival. Subscription packages will go on sale April 1, 2021 and can be purchased online at VeniceTheatre.org or by calling the box office at 941-488-1115, ext. 235.
