Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Hosts Very First Virtual Happy Hour

Grab your cocktail shakers and your laptop – Jah Movement is bringing a virtual concert to a screen near you this Friday, April 17 at 6pm!

Chef Paul Mattison will also be sharing some fabulous Happy Hour bites and a few different cocktails you can make at home and enjoy during the concert. The menu and recipes are printed below – be sure to pick up your ingredients this week so you can join us in making these delicious treats at home with us!

INGREDIENTS

Shrimp & Gouda Quesadillas

1 lb. Florida Pink Shrimp
1 sweet pepper
1 Jalapeno (seeded and chopped)
1 Shallot (chopped)
4 oz Cream Cheese
½ lb. shredded Gouda
 

Flambéed Florida Strawberries Over Ice Cream

2 cups fresh berries
¼ C Sugar
1/8 tsp (pinch) Salt
2 oz Melted Butter
1 oz Grand Gala
1 oz Cointreau
 

SRQ Sunset Margarita

1 1/2 ounces Corralejo Blanco Tequila
1 1/2 ounces Corralejo Reposado Tequila
2 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
1 ounce Agave Nectar
1 teaspoon Gran Gala Orange  liqueur
1 teaspoon Cointreau Liqueur
 

Palma Sola Paloma

2 ounces Corralejo Blanco
1  1/2  ounces fresh Ruby Red grapefruit juice
Splash of lime juice
1 ounce Q Club Soda
Grapefruit slice, for garnish
(For virgin recipe, omit Corralejo Blanco tequila)

 

Skrewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Old Fashioned

1 1/2 ounce Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey
¾ ounce Knob Creek Mattison’s Single Barrel Private Selection
4 dashes Rock Creek Shrubs Chocolate Cold Press Small Batch Bitters
Luxardo cherry and orange peel garnish
