On Thursday, Nov. 11, nonprofits Tidewell Hospice and Plymouth Harbor partnered to honor local veterans and military families with a Veterans Day pinning ceremony. During the ceremony, veteran volunteers from Tidewell Hospice recognized the service of nearly 50 residents living in the Plymouth Harbor community by presenting them with a special certificate of appreciation and a unique pin signifying their contributions to our nation.
The pinning ceremony was made possible through Tidewell Honors Veterans, a comprehensive program focused on respectfully celebrating veterans year-round and providing care that recognizes the unique challenges that may exist in military families. The program’s care teams have undergone specific training that helps them identify and treat conditions that are unique to those who have served in the military, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI) and psychological issues.
Tidewell Hospice was one of the first hospices in the nation to achieve Level Five status with the We Honor Veterans program developed by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Plymouth Harbor is a church-sponsored, not-for-profit community of distinction for older adults, committed to providing the most positive aging experience possible for its residents.
