Tidewell Foundation, Truist Bank and Equality Florida Suncoast Chapter are coming together to create a discussion and information seminar on end-of-life planning for LGBTQ individuals and families.
At 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Sarasota Yacht Club, participants will learn how to approach decisions about estate planning and end-of-life care.
The seminar grew out of documented concern that many LGBTQ individuals avoid or delay end-of-life planning decisions because preferences about how their estate should be managed or how their dying wishes should be met may be complicated by uncertainty about personal, family or even legal issues.
“Participants will find the program to be upbeat and empowering,” said Delesa Morris, M.S., CFRE, Interim President, Tidewell Foundation, which is hosting the event. “These decisions are among the most important people can make, and we believe people should be empowered to make decisions that are best for them.”
