The Venice Symphony Presents Final Free Virtual Concert of the Season

By  |

March 26, 2021 – Venice

On March 26, 2021, The Venice Symphony will premiere its final free virtual concert of the season. The Venice Symphony: Resound, Resilience features members of the orchestra in a program highlighting the works of the masters of classical music including Vivaldi, Mozart and Debussy. The concert will premiere at 7:30 pm on March 26 and will be available free on demand after that date at thevenicesymphony.org and The Venice Symphony’s YouTube channel.

“We are proud to have brought The Venice Symphony to our patrons and new audiences all season,” said Music Director Troy Quinn. “Resound, Resilience features chamber music groups performing pieces, from Vivaldi’s rarely heard mandolin concerto spotlighting Principal Viola Rafael Ramirez on mandolin, to the El Choclo, the popular Argentine tango. There is no more fitting theme than resilience for the last concert in this series, and all these works are triumphant pieces that focus on the indomitable human spirit.”

The 2020-21 virtual concerts were recorded in socially-distanced conditions at the Venice Performing Arts Center, by Captivation Agency. The first three concerts are available at thevenicesymphony.org. All subscribers to The Venice Symphony’s email will receive a link to view Resound, Resilience the week of the premiere.

Christine Kasten, President/CEO of The Venice Symphony, said “During this difficult year, Troy Quinn, our musicians and staff have responded to the challenge and provided these outstanding concerts that have reached thousands of people all over the country and the world. We are grateful to our patrons and businesses for their ongoing support, and especially to Gulf Coast Community Foundation for their sponsorship, allowing us to offer these concerts free to the public.”

The Venice Symphony had planned to return to the Venice Performing Arts Center this May for Songs from the Screen and Stage with Linda Eder, but has postponed that concert until May 2022 due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
