The Founders Golf Club Women’s Golf Association continued its annual tradition today hosting Golf for the Cure and raising more than $24,000 for Breast Health Sarasota.  All of the funds raised in the benefit golf tournament will stay in Sarasota County to provide diagnostic screening services to men and women in the local community.

“Our membership is extremely philanthropic and breast cancer prevention and care is a cause that is near and dear to many of our members,” said Gail Jordan and Shelley Appleton, WGA tournament chairs.  “This year’s tournament far surpassed our goal and we are honored to continue to support Breast Health Sarasota and contribute to their efforts to provide early detection and breast cancer prevention services in our community.”

According to Suellen Kaeb, chairperson of Breast Health Sarasota, “We are so very grateful that The Founders Club has chosen us as the beneficiary of this year’s tournament.  The Club’s members are such generous and giving people, and it’s wonderful when community members step forward to take care of others in our community.”

Breast Health Sarasota, Inc., is a local non-profit organization, focusing on the underserved in the Sarasota community.  The organization’s efforts have resulted in enhanced awareness, increased prevention and compassionate assistance for women afflicted with breast cancer.
