The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature is pleased to welcome Allison Nash as Development Director. In her new role, she oversees the Museum’s donor relations and fundraising activities, including the Annual Fund — which provides the main support for The Bishop’s operations. She also oversees the Museum’s planned giving, membership, sponsorship and grant support programs.

Nash, a Bradenton-area native, joins the Museum from her role as the Associate Director, State College of Florida Foundation, where she focused on supporting funding for student scholarships, college enhancements and capital projects.

“It’s wonderful to welcome Allison to her new role with the Museum,” said Brynne Anne Besio, CEO of The Bishop. “She knows the Museum and the community well — and they know her, too. She’s passionate about our mission to inspire discovery and we’re so pleased that she’s joining our team.”

Nash has a long history with The Bishop. She grew up in the area and often visited the Museum as a child while her mother volunteered in the gift shop.  She later served on The Bishop’s Board of Trustees from 2005 to 2008.  While on the Board, Nash served as Chair for the Development Committee.

“I feel like I have ‘come home’ to The Bishop and I’m excited to join its talented, amazing staff,” Nash said. “We are so fortunate to have this incredible museum in our region, offering state-of-the art, engaging and educational experiences. Current times reinforce the importance of having such a resource that can serve the community virtually in addition to in person at the Museum.”
