New College of Florida and St. Petersburg College (SPC), an 11-campus state college located in Pinellas County stretching from Gulfport to Tarpon Springs, finalized a new guaranteed admission program agreement as part of the New College of Florida Transform Program.

The NCF Transform Program guarantees admission to New College of Florida after completing an associate in arts degree. SPC joins the program, which includes other state colleges around Florida including, Daytona State College, Hillsborough Community College, Lake-Sumter State College, Florida SouthWestern State College, State College of Florida, Santa Fe College, and SUNY Orange County in Orange County, New York.

Students who complete their degree within eight semesters (2.5 years) of entering St. Petersburg College as non-high school students with a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average are guaranteed admission and a transition to New College of Florida. The transition planning includes joint advising from both schools, a $3,500 per year renewing scholarship, and an academic pathway to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in two years after transferring. Additional scholarship opportunities are available.

“New College is ranked as one of the most transfer-friendly schools in the nation, and only one of two colleges from the State University System of Florida on Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s Transfer Honor Roll,” said New College Interim President Richard Corcoran. “By partnering with colleges across the state, we not only broadened the higher education offerings of Florida students, but we also create a network of colleges who work together to provide the best education product at all levels. As New College continues to grow its student body and this program, we look forward to partnering with SPC and welcoming new transfer students to our campus.”
