December 18, 2023 – Sarasota

Beginning January 6, 2024, Set Sail with Selby Gardens returns to Marie Selby Botanical Gardens offering visitors an “Old Florida” way to experience both of its bayfront campuses.

The water-centric experience takes place on select Saturdays and includes roundtrip boat transportation along the Intracoastal Waterway between the two campuses, educational and interpretive narrations of the native nature and regional history guests will see along the way, full access to both the Historic Spanish Point and Downtown Sarasota campuses, and a box lunch at the Historic Spanish Point campus.

“These two beautiful, historical sites evolved to what they are today because of our waterways,” said Jennifer Rominiecki, president and CEO of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. “We see boat connectivity as part of Selby Gardens’ legacy and its future sustainability. This tour will offer an immersion into native nature, our regional history, and the ecology of the area.”

The cruise-and-tour excursion will begin at Selby Gardens’ Downtown Sarasota campus, departing at 10:30 a.m. for a 90-minute*, educationally narrated cruise down the Intracoastal Waterway. The boat arrives at the Historic Spanish Point campus allowing time for self-touring of the 30-acre site. Guests can also enjoy a box lunch from Michael’s on East Bayside Cafe (included in the price). After departing the Historic Spanish Point campus, the boat will arrive at approximately 3:30 p.m. back at the Downtown Sarasota campus, where guests have access to the Gardens until they close at 5 p.m.

The price for the excursion is $140.00 per person, and $125.00 for Selby Gardens members.
