By  |

Jennifer Rominiecki, President & CEO, of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens was recently appointed to VISIT FLORIDA’s Board of Directors. Rominiecki will represent the Tampa Bay region and will serve a four-year term beginning July 1, 2020.

The Board of Directors is the organization’s private sector governing body that provides guidance, input and insight into the evolution of VISIT FLORIDA marketing programs.  The Board, which is appointed by Enterprise Florida, Inc. in conjunction with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity prescribed by Florida Statute 288.1226, is comprised of representatives from key sectors of the tourism industry and is balanced geographically throughout the state.

Since she arrived in 2015, Rominiecki has repositioned Marie Selby Botanical Gardens as The Living Museum ®, securing a trademark from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Enacting this new operating model has yielded a 55% increase in admissions, a 67% increase in membership, and a 70% increase in overall earned revenues in just four years. Rominiecki has also overseen the creation and execution of a new Strategic Plan for Selby Gardens, as well as the development of a Compromise Master Site Plan, for which $35 million has been raised. Most recently, she oversaw the adoption of Historic Spanish Point as a companion campus to Selby Gardens’ Downtown Sarasota location to form one organization with two bayfront sanctuaries connecting people to air plants of the world, native nature, and our regional history. Rominiecki possesses twenty years of experience at major New York City cultural institutions.
