SCF Expands Range of Online Education With Information Technology Certificates

The State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) is now offering a full range of affordable self-paced courses leading to CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA ITF+ and CompTIA Network+  certifications for those currently in the information technology profession or interested in starting an IT career. Each course includes access to applicable certification exams to earn respected industry credentials.

CompTIA ITF+ is a pre-career certification covering the essential information technology skills and knowledge needed to execute tasks commonly performed by both advanced end-users and entry-level IT professionals. The broad curriculum is beneficial for non-technical professionals, career changers and students.

The CompTIA A+ certification course provides expertise to work with mobile devices, networking technology, hardware, installing and configuring operation systems, system security and software troubleshooting. Cost of the 100% online course, which includes interactive lab sessions and two certification exams, is $299.

The CompTIA Security+ certification establishes core knowledge information technology professionals need in a cybersecurity role. The certification proves the aptitude to handle intermediate-level cybersecurity jobs and knowledge and skills required to install and configure systems to secure applications, networks and devices while preparing to respond to a variety of risks.

The CompTIA Network+ certification course covers configuration, management and troubleshooting of common wired and wireless network devices as well as critical security concepts and key cloud computing best practices to keep a network resilient.

Cost of the 100% online CompTIA Security+, CompTIA ITF+ and CompTIA Network+ courses, which include interactive lab sessions and one certification exam is $199. The CompTIA A+ costs $299 and includes two separate exams which must both be passed to earn the certification.

Students have up to six months to complete their selected course after registering at SCF.edu/CCDenroll,. If unsuccessful on the first attempt of any of the course exams, there is a $75 examination retake fee per exam.
