Scene Snaps: Healthy New Year

By  |

January 2022—This month, readers show how they have fun moving and staying fit for the New Year!

“Belly dancing keeps me fit!” says Sarasota performer and teacher Tahja, who even manages to do it underwater.

Norm Arnold welcomes table tennis players of all levels to the Palms Center.

Her fitness routine at Pure Barre is “ballet on crack!” says Carla Bright. “It has toned me up like nobody’s business. It is like an intense form of ballet and gives you long, lean muscles instead of bulky gym muscles.”

Rachel Denton is proud of Gulf Coast Community Foundation’s active team! Veronica Thames and her family, as well as Jennifer Johnston, are all smiles while kayaking. Kristin Prince relishes paddle boarding in Key West.

Sandy Siegel and Marty Hollander enjoy biking on Legacy Trail.  Also a master swimmer, Marty competed in the Florida Senior games this year and took home a collection of medals.

Tai Chi practitioners enjoy Sunday mornings at Bayfront Park. In April, Dr. Aihan Kuhn (below) helped the group celebrate World Tai Chi Day.
