PGT Innovations, a national leader in the premium window and door category, has partnered with Children First, the exclusive provider of Head Start and Early Head Start services for Sarasota County, to kick off the agency’s 60thanniversary in a special initiative called 60 for 60.

In honor of Children First’s major milestone, the agency is hosting 60 volunteer projects with 60 different community partners throughout the year. PGT Innovations began the year-long initiative on January 26 at Children First’s North Port campus with landscaping and mulching.

Jeff Jackson, CEO and President of PGT Innovations, was on-hand to accept a special award from Children First CEO Philip Tavill for his service to the agency’s mission during his six-year tenure on the Board of Directors. Jackson, who served as Board Chair in 2019, has been a long-time supporter of providing high-quality education and opportunities for children and families in need.

“PGT is proud to support Children First and its efforts to make our community the best it can possibly be as a lead partner in this initiative. For nearly a decade, our staff has been involved in the agency’s mission, from volunteering, to sponsoring, to serving on the board, and we are excited to help commemorate this incredible achievement,” says Jackson.

“Because of our extraordinary partners like PGT, we are celebrating 60 years of providing the highest-quality early childhood education and family strengthening services to those most at-risk in our community. At Children First we say that many hands make light work, and we could not be more appreciative for Jeff and every employee at PGT who continue to invest in our children and families, mission, and greater community,” says Tavill.
