Girls Inc. Hosting August Match Campaign

By  |

August 9, 2021 – Sarasota

This August Girls Inc. is hosting the 6th Annual August Match Campaign where all gifts to the organization are matched dollar for dollar, up to $150,000.  The matching funds are generously provided by Charles and Margery Barancik Foundation, Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation, and an anonymous donor.

Funds raised during the August Match Campaign support scholarships for girls to attend afterschool programming at Girls Inc. where they are inspired to be strong, smart, and bold in three key areas- academic achievement, health and fitness, and life skills. The funds also support our ongoing partnership with Sarasota County Schools, helping to ensure all girls in the Sarasota area have access to intentional, research-based, and age-appropriate programming. Girls Inc. serves approximately 800 girls annually through afterschool, summer camp, and school-based programs in our community.

President & CEO Angie Stringer says, “The August Match Campaign is essential for our girls.  Without this support, many girls would not have access to the Girls Inc. Experience.  We are so thankful for the generosity of our matching partners, Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation, Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation, and an anonymous donor, for leading this effort and inspiring our community to support as well.”

Gifts can be made online at www.GIrlsIncSRQ.org or mailed to the organization’s center at 201 S. Tuttle Avenue, Sarasota FL 34237.  All gifts made during the month of August are matched dollar for dollar up to $150,000. Girls Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Girls Inc. fulfills its mission of empowering girls ages five and up to be self-confident, responsible, and well-rounded individuals by delivering research-based, age-appropriate, after-school and summer educational and sports programs designed specifically for girls.  Our organization equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow into healthy, educated, and independent adults.
