Conservation Foundation Honors 2022 Volunteer of the Year and Conservation Partner of the Year

Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast recently honored their 2022 Conservation Partner of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. Nancy Milholland and the group Conserve Bobby Jones Now received the Conservation Partner of the Year award for their integral role in the conservation of the nearly 300-acre Bobby Jones Golf Club. Mary Lundeberg received the Volunteer of the Year award for her ongoing photographic contributions helping to tell the story of the land Conservation Foundation saves. Honorees received recognition at the organization’s Annual Conservation Reception.

“We consider ourselves very fortunate to have the supportive and passionate conservation community that we do,” notes Christine Johnson, president of Conservation Foundation. “It is because of people like Mary Lundeberg, Nancy Milholland, and the group Conserve Bobby Jones Now, that we are able to have such a significant impact on this region. We are incredibly grateful for their continued commitment to conservation and generosity of both time and resources.”

Nancy Milholland and Conserve Bobby Jones Now received recognition as the 2022 Conservation Partner of the Year for their outstanding commitment to ensuring the permanent protection of Bobby Jones Golf Club. Enthusiastic collaborators, Nancy, and Conserve Bobby Jones Now worked diligently to keep the community informed and involved throughout the entire conservation process. They kept citizens involved by sharing progress updates and advocacy information, on how citizens could take action in support of Conservation Foundation’s efforts.

Mary Lundeberg was recognized as the 2022 Volunteer of the Year for her continued generosity of time and talent. A skilled wildlife and nature photographer, over the years Mary has provided hundreds of high-quality photos in support of Conservation Foundation’s work. A picture is worth a thousand words and Mary’s photos play a key role in communicating Conservation Foundation’s positive impact. Her images appear on the organization’s website, in marketing and promotional pieces ranging from newsletters to event invitations, as well as in magazine stories and news articles.The Annual Conservation Reception was held at Conservation Foundation’s Bay Preserve headquarters in Osprey. In addition to recognizing Conservation Partner of the Year and Volunteer of the Year, the event also celebrates the organization’s annual achievements made possible with the support of their growing conservation community.
