Project Light of Manatee, a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the literacy gap in the community by offering affordable English, computer, and citizenship classes to adults, is pleased to announce the appointment of Cheryl Evans as its new Board President.

Ms. Evans has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2019 and brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of education. She holds a Master’s in Education and Early Childhood Education/SEI and has dedicated her time at Project Light to expanding the fundraising endeavors of the organization. During the pandemic Cheryl pioneered Project Lights’ first online fundraiser, this was no easy task as the fear of the Corona Virus was a big impediment for any educational institution. With the help and support of the board, Mrs. Evans was able to collect donations from local businesses that were then auctioned online. All the proceeds went to supporting our school and its students.
