By  |

Art Center Sarasota’s 2019-2020 exhibition season opens with four exhibits. Gallery One features “Lion, Tigers, Bears and a Draco,” a solo exhibit by Horace Imhotep, an Atlanta-based artist, whose paintings reflect dark American histories. Gallery Two features “Natural Form,” a solo exhibition of hyper-realistic botanical paintings by Susan Martin. Gallery Three features work in all media by Art Center Sarasota instructors; and Gallery Four features “New Views,” an open, all-media, all-subjects, juried exhibition. A reception for all four exhibits is Thursday, October 17, 5-7 p.m. Art Center Sarasota, 707 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. For information, visit www.artsarasota.org or call 941-365-2032.

New this year are the “Garden Parties,” which will extend each opening reception until 9 p.m. or beyond. The “parties” will feature wine and craft beer from 99 Bottles Taproom, music, food trucks and art demonstrations.

“Art Center Sarasota is the hub for the creative and visual arts community in Sarasota. These parties are a way to bring people of all ages and perspectives together in an ongoing social activity to mingle and share ideas”, says Lisa Berger, Art Center Sarasota’s executive director.
