December 1, 2021 – Venice

Gulf Coast Community Foundation is now accepting applications for its February 2022, in-person Winter Gulf Coast Board Institute (GCBI). The online application and overview for the program is available at https://www.gulfcoastcf.org/gulf-coast-board-institute. This high-demand program is delivered through Gulf Coast’s Invest in Incredible consultants to new and veteran nonprofit board members in the Gulf Coast region. The deadline to apply for this high-level governance training series for nonprofit board members is Sunday, December 12. The online application is available at GulfCoastCF.org.

“I’d be hard-pressed to identify a more important investment Gulf Coast can make in our community than ensuring strong board governance at our region’s nonprofits,” said Mark Pritchett, President|CEO of Gulf Coast Community Foundation. “We encourage new and veteran board members to consider applying for this valuable training.”

The group will participate in training experiences through four consecutive Fridays from February 4 to 25 at Gulf Coast Community Foundation headquarters, 601 Tamiami Trail South, Venice. Topics will include fundamentals of nonprofit board governance, financial and legal oversight responsibilities, and how to create a highly functioning and engaged board. Training is led by BoardSource-certified consultants who are part of Gulf Coast’s Invest in Incrediblenonprofit capacity-building initiative.

Participants will be selected through a competitive process with the intent of creating a group of individuals with a variety of experiences. Gulf Coast provides all training and resources at no cost to participants in exchange for their commitment to serve as advocates for good board governance in current and future nonprofit board roles. Applicants must be currently active board members at a nonprofit in the region to be considered. Because of intense demand for this high-quality training opportunity, applicants also must sign a commitment that they will attend all four days of training if selected. To learn more, visit https://www.gulfcoastcf.org/gulf-coast-board-institute
