All Faiths to Continue Monthly Food Distribution, Vaccination Effort

By  |

June 14, 2021 – Sarasota

Too many community members are still contending with the economic fallout from COVID-19. In its continued efforts to help those who are struggling to put food on the table, All Faiths Food Bank – in partnership with Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall and The Bay Sarasota – is holding the third of five monthly large-scale food distributions at Van Wezel (these are scheduled the third or fourth Saturday of every month through October). The June installment takes place this Saturday, June 19, 9-11 a.m. at Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall (777 N. Tamiami Tr., Sarasota).

Thanks to the Sarasota County Health Department and regional coalition Shots in Arms, vaccinations will – once again – be available during the drive-through food distribution. The Johnson & Johnson “one and done” vaccine will be available for community members ages 18+ who have not yet been vaccinated; the first 100 who are vaccinated on-site will receive a gift card.

“With its convenient location, size and layout, Van Wezel offers a wonderful opportunity for us to reach hundreds of community members easily,” said Sandra Frank, president and CEO of All Faiths. “We are grateful to Van Wezel and The Bay for their commitment to helping us fight hunger and thrilled for this partnership to continue on into the future.”
