Yarnall Gives Back to Children in Need

More than 38 million Americans face hunger each day, while 35% of the food that’s produced each year goes to waste. Currently, one in six children in Florida goes to bed hungry on any given night. These stark statistics inspired Yarnall Moving and Storage Solutions to act.

Yarnall, the region’s largest and most decorated moving company has partnered with Move for Hunger, a national nonprofit organization that works to alleviate food insecurity and reduce food waste by working with moving companies.

The partnership stands to generate contributions of nonperishable food stuff by incorporating food donations into Yarnall’s moving solutions. During a move, families commonly dispose of nonperishable items because it’s often easier than delivering the items to a food bank. With its Move for Hunger partnership, Yarnall will set aside those nonperishable food items, pack them and ensure they get to a food bank serving an area of need in the state of Florida.

Yarnall, which moves countless households and businesses each month, has seen a high degree of support from its customers for the initiative. “Our customers have been really excited to be able to help out,” says Jay Vandroff, President of Yarnall. “It’s just a great benefit for the community and we’re thrilled to be able to be a part of such a noble cause.”
