July 10, 2024—Now that the July 4th celebrations are over, it’s time to turn our attention to another wonderful American tradition—voting—specifically in Sarasota County’s upcoming primary on August 20.
This is a critical election for Sarasota Memorial as four of the nine seats on the Sarasota County Public Hospital Board are open for election. It is so important to vote for individuals, who, like you, want to make sure our health system continues to deliver the excellent, patient-centered care we’ve come to expect.
Getting to know who is running is key this year. There is an usually large field of candidates, including some current SMH board members who helped guide SMH through the unprecedented challenges we faced over the last few years.
Since deadlines for registering and voting by mail are quickly approaching, here is some other important information for you to know:

Registration and Vote-by-Mail Deadlines:
Voter registration deadline: Mon., July 22
Deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot: Thur., Aug. 8, 5p.m.
