Venice Theatre’s Musical Theatre Internship Program Made Possible by Gulf Coast Community Foundation

By  |

Venice Theatre’s musical theatre internship program is marking its fifth successful season. Since its inception in 2014 the program has been funded by an Arts Appreciation Grant from Gulf Coast Community Foundation. This intentionally small, intensive program provides emerging theatre professionals with valuable experience while helping VeniceTheatre meet its ambitious production and artistic goals.

Patrons who attend the current production of Mamma Mia! can see the program at work in the performances of Jaden Lux, a New York-based performing artist, Gabriel Trimbur, a recent Wagner College graduate with a degree in Theatre Performance, and Nethaneel Williams, a returning member of the program who also teaches for the theatre’s Education & Outreach Department. Joining them later this season for the MainStage musicals Guys and Dolls and Chicago will be Tim Garner, Morgan Carlson, and Malcolm Franklin.

Previous interns who have moved on to successful performance careers include DaNiesha Carr, Morgan Graves, Matt Sawalski, Gavin King and Steffahn Maclin.

Venice Theatre offers housing and a stipend to program participants which would not be possible without Gulf Coast’s ongoing generous support.
