After three decades, people are still saying the same thing about Trudy Moon—she’s the “energy” in her company, Air & Energy. Always on the move, Trudy constantly works to improve her family business and her community.

Prior to relocating to Florida, Trudy and her husband held corporate jobs in Toronto. “He was traveling all over, and we had a new baby. Together, we decided to do something different.” It took just a few years of boating and enjoying Anna Maria Island to make Stewart and Trudy want to do more. One day in the early 90s, they needed an A/C repair and decided to buy the company! The timing was perfect…and the rest is history. 

“Air & Energy was a little company with five employees. Two of which just retired, and two are still with us! Today we have an incredible company of about 50 employees serving Manatee County,” she reports. “It’s been a wonderful ride. I love coming to work every single day.”

Air & Energy has seen consistent growth over the years and recently added generators to its air, plumbing, and electrical services. “People are enjoying their homes more. We are truly a service company working hard to keep our customers comfortable.”

Trudy’s life is her family, friends, and Air & Energy, but she loves her community and stays involved. A former Chairman at Manatee County Chamber of Commerce, she now serves as Chairman of Blake Medical Center. Moon and her company support dozens of other local organizations, too. In every way, her life is about service.

For instance, alongside every new air conditioning or generator purchase is a personal thank-you note from Trudy. “The biggest things we value are kindness and integrity. We’re here forever and will take care of you—like a concierge service.”
