The Tidewell Foundation Board of Trustees has elected Gary Butler and Barbara Glanz to three-year terms, joining regional business and not-for-profit leaders.
Butler, also a member of the Tidewell Hosice Board of Trustees, joins the Tidewell Foundation board with more than 35 years of executive leadership in non-profit organizations. He currently serves as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Military Heritage Museum in Punta Gorda. Before leading the museum, Butler was the interim executive director of the Charlotte County Family YMCA.
The majority of Butler’s career was spent with the Boy Scouts of America. He retired as chief operating officer of the Boy Scouts national office after a 25-year career with the organization. Butler earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Providence College in Providence, R.I. He is a member of the Charlotte County Tourist Development Council and treasurer of the Punta Gorda Historical Society.
Glanz, CSP, CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame, is a business speaker and consultant and the author of 11 best-selling how-to books. She works with organizations that want to improve morale, retention and service and with people who seek to rediscover the job in their work and their lives. Glanz lives per personal motto “Spreading Contagious Enthusiasm.”
Glanz is the former manager of Training and Director of Quality in Training for Kaset International, a Times Mirror training company specializing in customer service.
