The Venice Symphony Receives $30,000 Arts Appreciation Grant
Gulf Coast Community Foundation has awarded The Venice Symphony a $30,000 Arts Appreciation Grant in support of the 2020-21 concert season and music education programs. Earlier this year, Gulf Coast awarded The Symphony a $30,000 emergency grant in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
“The continued support of Gulf Coast Community Foundation has been vital to The Venice Symphony’s success and growth,” said Christine Kasten, President/CEO of The Venice Symphony. “Gulf Coast’s unwavering commitment to the arts and to our community is especially crucial during this challenging time.”
“We know how devastating COVID-19 has been for our region’s arts organizations,” said Mark Pritchett, President/CEO of Gulf Coast Community Foundation. “The Venice Symphony is one of our community’s cornerstone cultural groups, and our Board wanted to provide flexible funding so the Symphony can continue to pursue its artistic mission while it creatively adapts to the challenges of this pandemic.”

For 25 years, together with its donors, Gulf Coast Community Foundation has transformed our region through bold and proactive philanthropy. Gulf Coast is a public charity that was created in 1995 through the sale of the Venice Hospital. Since then, it has become the philanthropic home of nearly 1,000 families, individuals, organizations, and businesses that have established charitable funds there, and together they have invested more than $390 million in the areas of health and human services, civic and economic development, education, arts and culture, and the environment.
