The Sarasota Ballet Announces New Director of Development

The Sarasota Ballet’s Director Iain Webb and Executive Director Joseph Volpe publicly announced that Sara Curtis Robinson will be joining The Sarasota Ballet as Director of Development starting July 1st, 2019. Robinson joins the Company from Celebrity Series of Boston where she led annual and capital fundraising programs as the organization’s Chief Advancement Officer.
“It required a long and extensive search process to find someone with Sara’s extraordinary depth and breadth of experience,” explains Volpe. “We are so fortunate to have someone of her caliber working with us to not only elevate our fundraising, but also to lend her expertise to multiple areas of our organization. Sara joining The Sarasota Ballet is another exciting development in our growth as a Company.”
Webb adds, “Joseph and I have been working over the past two years to raise the standards of The Sarasota Ballet to better match the extraordinary level of artistry and professionalism you see on stage. Sara will be a vital and key part in our multi-year plan, to ensure the stability and growth of The Sarasota Ballet. We are all thrilled to welcome her into the organization.”
Sara Robinson, CFRE, has enjoyed over two decades in arts administration and fundraising in the non-profit sector. As Chief Advancement Officer of Celebrity Series of Boston, she headed the planning and implementation of annual and capital fundraising programs, including the LIVE PERFORMANCE! Arts for All capital campaign for endowment and innovative programming. Ms. Robinson has served in a leadership capacity for multiple capital campaigns including Palm Beach Day Academy’s Great Expectations campaign for facilities expansion.  Ms. Robinson is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Massachusetts, and serves on AFP’s Education Committee, MASSCreative Leadership Council, and numerous Tessitura TLCC Planning Committees. Prior to joining Celebrity Series of Boston, Ms. Robinson served on the Board of Trustees of Palm Beach Day Academy and held positions at Palm Beach Day Academy, Worth Collection, Celebrity Series of Boston, and the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. She holds a Certificate in Fundraising from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pine Manor College.
