The Sarasota Ballet Announces Dancer Promotions and Additions
October 7, 2022 – Sarasota
Following a successful 21 – 22 Season and a triumphant return to the Joyce Theater in New York City this Summer, The Sarasota Ballet sustains its expansive trajectory as additions and promotions throughout ranks continue within the Professional Company.
Announced earlier this year, The Sarasota Ballet welcomed its newest Principals Macarena Gimenez and Maximiliano Iglesias to the Company. Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, both started their careers with El Teatro Colon and performed with The Sarasota Ballet for the first time at the Joyce Theater. Marijana Dominis has elevated to the rank of Principal following a consistently strong position as Soloist. Richard House has been promoted to Junior Principal and is choreographing his first main stage work for the opening Program of the Season. House has choreographed ballets for The Margaret Barbieri Conservatory’s In Motion performances in the past.
Dancers Lauren Ostrander, Anna Pellegrino, Daniel Pratt, Yuki Nonaka, and Arcadian Broad have been promoted to Soloist, with Broad choreographing his first ballet with the Company this coming Season. Dominique Jenkins and Emelia Perkins have taken the position of Coryphée, and joining the Corps de Ballet are Sierra Abelardo, Isabella Fenton, Morgan Rust, Gabriella Schultze, Josh Fisk, and Andrea Marcelletti, Willa Franz, and Bel Pickering. Marcelletti and Rust were promoted from apprentices to Corps de Ballet, while Franz and Pickering were promoted from the Studio Company.
New Apprentices for the Company are Allessandra Nova, Jessica Templeton, Haeley Stinchcomb, Calen Sutherland, Israel Ellis, Anna Victoria Martinez, and Javier Gutierrez Cuervo. Stinchcomb, Sutherland, and Ellis have all been promoted to Apprentices from the Studio Company. Templeton joins from The Royal Ballet School, while Martinez and Cuervo join from the English National Ballet School.
The Sarasota Ballet’s dedication to the development of both its established Dancers as well as its new talent is paramount to the Company who by its solid foundation of historical ballets, moves towards the future poised for a remarkable return to the stage this October.
