May 24, 2021 – Venice
Unity of Venice announces the opening of the new 12-Powers Prayer Garden. This unique and extraordinary space has been created as a place of peace, quiet contemplation and prayer. Nestled under a beautiful canopy of trees, this is also a magnificent venue for weddings, memorials, concerts and other special events. The central focus is a beautiful water feature surrounded by 12 sacred spaces to sit and enjoy the one-of-a-kind sculptures by local artist, Debbie Marucci.
Open to the Entire Community
This has been created as a memorial garden to Rev. Patricia Reiter who passed away in November after 18 years of service to the community. It is open to the public daily.
The word has already gotten out because there is nothing like this in the area. A woman was sent to the garden by her therapist who told her it would help with her healing. She said: “It is totally working!” Another woman was using the gardens as a safe space for her son with Autism because he needed a place where he could walk without being disturbed by other people.
Ribbon Cutting
There will be a ribbon cutting on Saturday, June 5th at 11 A.M. The public is invited to join Senior Minister, Rev. Robin Reiter along with the church Board of Trustees and Venice Mayor, Ron Feinsod. Also in attendance will be Chad Gugliuzza of CMG Landscaping who was the architect of this project.
