The Greatest Love of All Starring Belinda Davids Comes to the Van Wezel

The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall is thrilled to welcome The Greatest Love of All starring Belinda Davids to Sarasota on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 7 p.m. Whitney Houston’s musical legacy is brought to life in this critically acclaimed tribute concert described as “mind-blowingly spot on.” Tickets are currently on sale.

Audiences will be stunned by the breathtaking vocals of Belinda Davids – as seen on Britain’s Got Talent, Showtime at the Apollo and winner of the BBC’s Even Better Than the Real Thing. The two-hour international production will fill patrons with joy, nostalgia and wonderment as it takes them on a heartfelt journey through all of Whitney Houston’s greatest hits including “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” “I Will Always Love You,” “Greatest Love of All,” “How Will I Know,” “I’m Every Woman,” “Higher Love” and more.

Davids talent was apparent from a young age, and she began performing professionally at 14 years old. In the mid-90s, Davids recorded her first album. Her single “We Go Together” reached number one on the RiSA charts for six weeks in her home country of South Africa. 

Looking to expand her musical career, Davids traveled abroad performing at major hotels and clubs. During a performance at a hotel in Hong Kong, the audience noticed such a similarity to Whitney Houston’s vocals they demanded she stop the concert and sing acapella to prove she wasn’t lip-syncing.

In 2013, Davids managed to nab a last-minute audition which landed her the marquee role in The Greatest Love of All starring Belinda Davids. Touring began almost immediately, and demand has grown exponentially ever since. The show has now performed across much of the globe including the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Lithuania, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, UAE, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia and South Africa.

Audiences have their chance to witness The Greatest Love of All starring Belinda Davids for one night only at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on January 5.
