The Golden Age of Aviva: Celebrating the Journey proved to be an unforgettable evening of inspiration, generosity, and entertainment on March 22 at The Ora. The gala raised $415,700 to support Benevolent Care, Safety and Security, Life Enrichment Programming, and the Memory Garden at Aviva Senior Living.
“The atmosphere was electric, and the generosity in the room was simply overwhelming,” said Suzanne Hudson-Smith, Chief Development Officer of Aviva Senior Living. “This evening was a testament to the incredible community that believes in our mission. The funds raised and friendships created will have a lasting impact on the lives of our residents, ensuring they continue to receive the care and enrichment they deserve.”
The sold-out gala transported guests into a dazzling world of elegance, storytelling, and community impact. One of the highlights of the evening was a cabaret performance by Broadway veteran Ann Morrison, accompanied by John Shirley. Their performance transported guests through the eras, reminding everyone of the power of music and storytelling to unite and inspire.
The night also featured a deeply moving testimonial video from 100-year-old Carolyn Kaplan, who is redefining the golden years. Her awe-inspiring attitude and perspective on the aging process left the crowd speechless, serving as a powerful reminder of the resilience, wisdom, and joy that come with each new chapter of life.
The success of The Golden Age of Aviva marked a new chapter of growth and sustainability for the organization, ensuring that seniors in the Sarasota community continue to thrive in a nurturing and engaging environment.
