The Arnold Simonsen Players Studio and Sunshine Kids Teamed Up to Give Kids a Theatre-Filled Day

By  |

The Players Centre for Performing Arts was thrilled to pair with Sunshine Kids to provide area children with cancer a free acting experience on June 1 from 3-7pm! The six participants learned improvisation, created their own superheroes, from their name to their capes, and everything in between. At 7pm, friends and families were treated to a performance by participants.

The Players is proud to support our value of education and to give children a special experience on our stage. The Sunshine Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to children with cancer. Established in 1982, they are committed to providing positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients. The Sunshine Kids provides a variety of programs and events, free of charge, for kids who are receiving cancer treatments in hospitals across North America.

“What an honor it is to collaborate with this incredible Sunshine Kids organization and share the joys of theater with these courageous kids,” said Artistic Managing Director Jeffery Kin. “We are excited to help create some great theatrical moments for our participants and maybe inspire some inner super heroes to emerge!”

The two organizations hope to plan more events together in the future. Contact The Players if you’d like to participate in similar programs or encourage this amazing collaboration.
