Sweet Sparkman Hires Senior-Level Architects

Sweet Sparkman Architecture & Interiors (SSAI) of Sarasota has announced the expansion of its talent pool with two new architects.
Richard W. Kuhn, AIA, NCARB, has a Bachelor of Design in Architecture, with honors, from the University of Florida and a Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Throughout his 35-year design career, he won more than 50 local, state, and national AIA awards. Before joining the Sweet Sparkman team, he served as Design Director/Principal/Lead Designer at Perkins + Will Architects in Boston and several other prominent design firms, including The Freelon Group and Richard Meier and Partners, with an emphasis on education, civic, and public service projects. His numerous awards for national and international projects include the Tenley and Anacostia Public Libraries in Washington, DC; the Durham County Human Services Complex in Durham, North Carolina; and The Exchange Winter Garden in Boston’s Financial District.
Ram Venkat, AIA, NCARB, earned his Bachelor of Professional Studies in Architecture at the State University of New York, Buffalo, and his Master of Architecture at the University of Minnesota. He comes to Sweet Sparkman from Ithaca, New York, where he spent eight years as a senior project manager for Cornell University, after previously working for fifteen years with several private architectural firms. Among his significant new construction and renovation projects include Cornell Health Services, Cornell Atkinson, Cornell Bowers, Ithaca College Boathouse, SUNY Broome Community College Science Building in Broome County, New York, and the Breazzano Family Center in Ithaca. At Sweet Sparkman, Venkat will serve as a senior project manager.
