State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host the 19th Annual Suncoast Student Film Festival from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at Burns Court Cinema, 506 Burns Lane, Sarasota. The event is free and open to the public.
The festival offers a feature-length program of short films produced by Digital Cinema students at SCF. The narrative, documentary, experimental and industrial productions explore themes of identity and self, social and safety issues, travel and entrepreneurism.
Student filmmakers include Jill Dolan, Alexander Ilardi, Katherine Tsirigotis and Kim Galway, whose production “Film at 11” won the Sarasota Film Festival’s “20 Hour Best Cinematography” competition in 2018.
