Suncoast Boat Show Opens in Sarasota with $12 Million Steel House Boat

 The 37th annual Suncoast Boat Show returned to the waters of Marina Jack with a never publicly displayed, one-of-a-kind stainless steel houseboat for sale for $12 million.The boat first drew buzz on social media when it was first spotted in the waters in Tampa last year and was shrouded in mystery because of its unique shape and all-steel construction.  The boat, named Rendezvous 2018, is open for tours and is for sale (fully furnished) at the show through Sunday. The 84 x 40-foot boat, which is shaped like a cube, took 44 months to complete by Cubic Yachts. It features a comfortable living space — 9,100 square feet total (4,500 air conditioned) — and was originally built as a recreational boat for a Tampa family. They are selling the boat because they are building a similar steel vessel – only bigger.

Other facts about the Rendezvous 2018:

• top deck features solar panels and powers Tesla batteries that can power the boat for 15 days.

• has 160,000 watts of solar electricity

• holds 5,000 gallons of fresh water 

• flooring on the top deck (52’ x 40’) is made from materials from France that never get hot

• 5 miles of stainless weld throughout

• 18-foot hydraulic lifts

• 11-foot ceilings

The Suncoast Boat Show, the premier boat show along the Gulf Coast, draws an extraordinary selection of powerboats in water and on land. It will also feature almost 65,000 square feet of dock space.

Show-goers will be excited to find up to 400 power boats on display, exhibits, special events, and fun and educational activities, including marine seminars and youth fishing clinics presented by the non-profit Hook The Future. Children in attendance will receive a free rod and reel.
The free-for-youth clinics will be held Saturday April 27 at noon and 2 p.m.; and Sunday April 28 at 1 and 3 p.m. Registration is not required and free rods and reels are first come-first served up to 50 per clinic.
