Dr. Carol F. Probstfeld, president of State College of Florida, Sarasota-Manatee, (SCF), has received the Educational Leadership award from the Manatee Tiger Bay Club.
The Tiger Bay Club is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization presenting topical monthly discussions on issues of interest to the local community. The award was presented at The Honorable Pat Glass 10th Anniversary Inaugural Leadership Awards Dinner Nov. 21, in Bradenton.
The club noted that under Dr. Probstfeld’s leadership, SCF is rapidly expanding SCF’s contributions to the community by accomplishing the priorities in the College’s strategic plan, addressing the regional nursing shortage and providing student-focused facilities through the SCF Foundation’s Capital Campaign.
“I am grateful and humbled to be recognized – and thank you for recognizing State College of Florida which has been a partner in the community for 62 years,” said Probstfeld. “We bring the American dream to thousands of students each year and it is our honor to do so.”
Dr. Probstfeld was named president of SCF in 2013 after 10 years as vice president of business and administrative services, where she oversaw the budgets and administrative operations for SCF, a $100 million enterprise that makes a $432 million annual economic impact on the region.
