March 11, 2022 – Sarasota
Registration for Summer 2022 classes at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) opens for all new and returning students on Monday, March 14. New students can attend Spring Forward events with campus tours at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 4 p.m. on Monday, March 14, at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail, and Tuesday, March 15, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W. RSVPs are required online at SCF.edu/SpringForward.
High school seniors and their families will receive information about how easy the transition from high school to SCF can be. Topics covered will include the admissions process, financial aid options and student life. These events are opportunities to learn about the benefits of small class sizes, attentive professors and affordable tuition and fees, as well as the flexibility SCF offers with online, evening and weekend classes.
SCF’s workforce certificate programs, associate degrees and bachelor’s degrees are designed to prepare students for in-demand jobs in Manatee and Sarasota counties. Credits earned for an associate in arts degree at SCF are transferable to any Florida public university. In addition, SCF offers the full college experience with intercollegiate athletics, performing and fine arts, and numerous clubs and student organizations.
SCF provides many course delivery methods, so students have the flexibility to pursue their education without hindering work or family commitments.
- Summer credit courses are scheduled in two six-week sessions or over one 12-week session.
- Flex Start courses have differing start dates and include two five-week sessions and one eight-week session.
- Students with weekday responsibilities can even attend all their classes on Friday evenings and Saturdays through SCF’s Weekend College.
- SCF also has an expanded online learning format called Go Live with SCF Online, which involves live lectures and interpersonal interaction with professors and classmates. This platform joins the existing traditional online courses that enable students to study at their own pace.
