The Manasota Chapter of the Florida Nursery Grower’s and Landscape Association, commonly known as FNGLA is partnering with SPARCC, Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center, to improve their outdoor courtyard and make it a more pleasant space for advocates to meet with clients outdoors, and for employees, survivors and visitors to enjoy. The goal is to make the outdoor meeting space located at their outreach service location low maintenance, tranquil and aesthetically pleasing.
The FNGLA plans to use an assortment of granite and Mexican Beach Pebble to create a zen garden, while incorporating a stone bench, fountain and Florida friendly landscape. Plants like blue daze, jasmine, crotons and liriope will be installed to give the space color and provide more dimension.
The outdoor transformation project is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 18 and will be completed in one day. Since 2020, the Manasota chapter has selected one organization each year to support through an outreach project that aims to help improve an outdoor space in order to make it more purposeful and aesthetically pleasing. According to SPARCC President & CEO, Jessica Hays, “SPARCC is thrilled to be chosen as this year’s recipient. We believe that this project will not only be appreciated and utilized by our staff but, it will also provide a much-needed, peaceful outdoor space for all those we serve at our Main Street location.”
