Presenting another exciting season of one-night-only performances featuring world-renowned orchestras, chamber ensembles and acclaimed soloists.

Sarasota Concert Association celebrates its 79th Season, presenting an array of internationally-acclaimed musicians to Sarasota. The exciting 2023-24 season features three world-renowned orchestras, various breathtaking instrumentalists, a Grammy Award-winning chamber ensemble, and a very special Holiday event!

The season opens on December 4 with Canadian Brass Holiday Concert. Celebrating 50 years of making spirits bright, the world’s most famous brass quintet will perform festive holiday favorites, from Carol of the Bells, to A Charlie Brown Christmas, swinging Glenn Miller tunes, and more!

The acclaimed Sofia Philharmonic makes its Sarasota debut to open the Sarasota Concert Association’s Great Performers Series on January 15. General director Nayden Todorov leads the orchestra in an all-Beethoven program including the composer’s beloved Symphony No. 7 and the Emperor Piano Concerto No. 5 featuring pianist Simeon Goshev.

On January 24, prepare to be dazzled as the Grammy Award-winning Harlem Quartet, known for their eclectic programming, mixing classical repertoire with jazz standards, make their Sarasota debut performing Mendelssohn, Britten, and jazz standards.

World-renowned cellist Alisa Weilerstein, described as “a new generation’s cello superstar,” joins the fourth-oldest orchestra in the country, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, in Elgar’s Cello Concerto on February 19, led by Music Director Jader Bignamini. Rimsky-Korsakov’s exotic Scheherazadeis also onthe program.

On March 3, one of Europe’s finest orchestras, the Rotterdam Philharmonic led by Chief Conductor Lahav Shani, is joined by Daniil Trifonov, “the most astounding pianist of our age” (The Times London) in a program that includes Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2, and excerpts from Romeo and Juliet.

The Great Performers series concludes on March 29 with the first prize winner in the 2021 Chopin International Piano Competition, and the pianist who brought down the house two years ago in Sarasota with his incredible virtuosity, Bruce Liu. His program will include various selections of Rameau, Chopin, Ravel and Liszt.
