Shaun Vanderwerf Named Vice President of Loss Prevention for Bealls Inc.

Leading retailer Bealls Inc. announces the promotion of Shaun Vanderwerf to Vice President of Loss Prevention (LP), who oversees all strategy and operations related to protection of company assets, shrinkage reduction, and environmental safety for corporate and field-based associates and guests of the 660+ bealls, Bealls Florida and Home Centric stores located across 22 states. Vanderwerf is succeeding industry veteran, Bill McLaughlin, who retired from the position after 29 years with Bealls Inc.

Vanderwerf joined Bealls Inc. in 2010 as an LP District Manager. He honed his investigative experience as a Corporate Regional Investigator, conducting internal reviews, organized retail crime inquiries, and handling HR-related investigations.  Vanderwerf continued as Manager of the Security Operations Center at the company’s headquarters in Bradenton, then as Director of Corporate LP Operations, and most recently, Divisional Vice President of Corporate and Logistics LP. His background also includes time with L Brands, Macy’s, and Abercrombie & Fitch.

Vanderwerf holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice/law enforcement administration from the University of Arizona Global Campus. He is currently on the National Retail Federation (NRF) Fraud Committee and Motorola Solutions Video Security & Access Control Advisory Board and previously sat on the Certified Forensic Interview (CFI) recertification committee.
