SCF Boasts Flexible Enrollment Options This Summer and Fall
May 12, 2023 – Bradenton
Fall 2023 registration is open for all new and returning students at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF). Financial aid, flexible scheduling, and college and career success coaching are available to help students earn workforce credentials or prepare to pursue advanced degrees. Fall 2023 classes will begin Monday, Aug. 14, at SCF Bradenton, SCF Lakewood Ranch, SCF Venice and online. A six-week summer session with accelerated classes is also available beginning Monday, June 26. Registration is available at My.SCF.edu for existing students, and new students should apply online by visiting SCF.edu/Admissions. SCF’s two- and four-year degrees are designed to meet the workforce needs of Manatee and Sarasota counties. The college also offers workforce certificates and noncredit industry certification options to rapidly prepare students for high-demand career fields. Credits earned for an associate in arts degree at SCF are transferable to any university in Florida. Students who are seeking a four-year degree outside the seven bachelor’s degree options at SCF can take advantage of this easy transfer method to start their education at a lower cost than a university. SCF has partnered with several universities to form guided 2+2 degree pathways designed to ensure students are on track for their university academic career during their two years at SCF. SCF offers many scheduling and course delivery options, which allow students to study at their own pace without compromising their work or family obligations. Options include:
- Go Live with SCF Online, providing live instruction via video conferences enabling students to experience face-to-face learning from convenient locations.
- Weekend College, for students with weekday obligations, offering classes on Friday evenings and Saturdays.
- Flex Start courses in the fall and spring semesters, with staggered start dates, including one 12-week session, two eight-week sessions and three five-week sessions, as well as two six-week terms each summer.
Tuition at SCF is substantially lower when compared to many state universities in Florida, and SCF also provides several ways to help pay for college through scholarships, financial aid, grants and payment plans. Support services are available to assist students in resolving challenges related to academics, finances, time commitment and other obstacles.
