SARTQ, a Sarasota Artist Collective, will explore the texture and materiality of our lives in their upcoming 2-day pop-up art show, What We Are Made Of. An opening night reception will take place on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 2081 Princeton Street in Sarasota, right next to SPAACES. The pop-up show can also be viewed on Saturday, April 8 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
What We Are Made Of will feature a diverse range of mediums from 2D paintings to ceramics and will include work from current members, Lori Childers, Danielle Dygert, Zachary Gilliland, Grace Howl, Julie Kanapaux, Taylor Robenalt, Javier Rodriguez, Emmie Wells, Sam Wuerfel and Ava Young.
“This group show gives audiences the opportunity to view the exploration of different materials and substrates,” Julie Kanapaux, co-director of SARTQ said. “As artists, we continue to discover our unique voices, as well as the commonality of the human experience.”
SARTQ aims to maintain a network of accomplished Sarasota artists, manage exhibitions and events, and collaborate with the community. Current members include Lori Childers, Danielle Dygert, Zachary Gilliland, Grace Howl, Julie Kanapaux, Rae Ramos, Taylor Robenalt, Javier (Javo) Rodriguez, Emmie Wells, Sam Wuerfel and Ava Young.
