Sarasota Orchestra Postpones 2020-2021 Concerts

By  |

All programs that were originally scheduled for the 2020/2021 season (over 100 concerts) have been postponed to appear in seasons to come. In its place will be 12 – 14 concerts that will hold a condensed, socially distanced audience and/or will be live streamed to patrons. They will also be in a different format from their usual concerts, which means:

  • One-hour concerts without intermission, starting no sooner than November ( Normal concerts are usually over an hour to two hours with an intermission)
  • Socially-distanced musicians on the stage with ensembles ranging from two to 15 players ( The Orchestra usually has about 40 – over 100 musicians on stage during a normal season.)
  • Enhanced safety protocols for small audiences to include socially-distanced seating, required masks, hand sanitizing stations, deep cleaning of the facility between performances, and a newly installed Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization air handling system
  • An online streaming option to experience concerts and value-added content from the safety and convenience of your home
  • Additional patron engagement and musical opportunities provided safely throughout our community

The Sarasota Orchestra is still planning the details of these concerts and look forward to sharing those details in late September.
