At its November Social and Singers meeting, the Sarasota Opera Guild presented Stacy Ridenour, Sarasota Opera’s Director of Development, with a check for $10,000 in support of the Opera. In addition, the Guild donated $1,000 towards the Sarasota Opera Costume Studio, and members brought personal checks contributing another $1,575 towards the project.
The show of support was in response to a Challenge Grant offered by the Steinwachs Family Foundation. Sarasota Opera recently acquired a historic collection of more than 30,000 costumes and hopes to raise $500,000 by December 31 for that amount to be matched.
Donors included Carol Kreit, Richard Schworm, Sherry Wheeler, Julianne Schworm, Karin Murphy, Antoinette Dowling, Pat Dodge, Suzy and Peter Phillips, Ann Waller, Stacy Ridenour, Carol Von Allmen, Alina Otal, Beverly Broth, and Bobby Garibaldi Sanders.
