Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation recently received a $100,000 donation from Eliza Perlmutter Culverhouse to support the Emergency Care Center (ECC) at SMH. The gift was made to honor Mrs. Culverhouse’s son-in-law, Dr. Marshall Frank, and the entire staff of SMH’s Emergency Care Center.
“I know how hard these men and women have been working during this most difficult time,” said Mrs. Culverhouse. “This gift is a way to say thank you and let them all know how much their courage and commitment these last several months are appreciated.”
The ECC team at SMH consists of board-certified emergency medicine physicians, emergency medicine pharmacists, trauma surgeons, subspecialists, and trauma and emergency care nurses who provide life-saving treatment and interventions around-the-clock. It is through the generosity of the Healthcare Foundation’s donors, that grants are provided for critical equipment, education and more to help ensure the Emergency Care Center staff can continue to provide exceptional care to patients.
“We are so grateful to Mrs. Culverhouse for this heartfelt and timely gift,” said Healthcare Foundation President, Mason Ayres. “Supporting the hospital and giving recognition to its frontline workers in the ECC is so important right now.”
