Sarasota Contemporary Dance’s Annual Fundraiser
February 7, 2022 – Sarasota
Fundraising to benefit its performances, educational outreach, and training programs, Sarasota Contemporary Dance is treating its guests to a luxurious Cuban-inspired evening with its annual Dance Your Part fundraiser the evening of Saturday, March 5th. This year, SCD’s fundraiser theme Noche Tropical invites members of the SCD family near and far to dance and enjoy a night of paradise at Waterworks, located at 1005 N. Orange Avenue in Sarasota.
SCD’s Noche Tropical fundraiser will delight with a night of tropical food, beverages, and a silent auction for exciting prizes, with all proceeds going to the company’s robust performance and educational programming. Also featured is Latin Grammy award-winning musician Renesito Avich, who will accompany an original Cuban-inspired performance by the Sarasota Contemporary Dance company members, choreographed by Leymis Bolaños Wilmott.
Serving Sarasota for nearly twenty years, Sarasota Contemporary Dance has spent its present season, GRIT, expanding its community outreach and educational programming to exponential heights. Jaime Still, new SCD Board Vice President and primary fundraiser organizer comments, “I’m really excited to support SCD in this way after seeing the company for the first time in 2018. They’ve grown tremendously since then, and I think this fundraiser is evidence of that.” She says, “Continuing to partner with Waterworks is very exciting, and I think everyone who comes out to support the event will have a great evening.”
