July 13, 2022 – Sarasota
Sarasota Cars & Coffee recently celebrated its one-year anniversary at its new location at University Town Center (UTC) and nearly $50,000 raised for local charities. Powered by Suncoast Porsche and Benderson Development’s UTC, the monthly event features the area’s most diverse gathering of automotive enthusiasts and benefits a different charitable cause each month.
Held the second Saturday of every month, Sarasota Cars & Coffee features live music, free coffee and hundreds of the area’s finest exotic, sports, import and classic cars. The show takes place in the West District at UTC near the new Ford’s Garage, and show cars are encouraged to make a $10 donation at the entrance to help fuel local charities. Approximately $45,800 was raised this past year to benefit All Faiths Food Bank, Children’s Cancer Center, Education Foundation of Sarasota County, Sarasota Fire Fighters Benevolent Fund, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Second Chance Last Opportunity, Toys for Tots, Rise & Nyes, American Heart Association, Miss Susie’s Newtown Kitchen, Mote Science Education Aquarium, Safe Children Coalition and Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue.
While Sarasota Cars & Coffee has been held at UTC for only one year, the event has been around for a total of 11 years. It originally started at Suncoast Porsche on Tamiami Trail.
“The first show in June 2011 at Suncoast Porsche started with 30 cars and averaged about 150 show cars every month after that,” shared Peter Tromboni, parts specialist at Suncoast Porsche and founder of
Sarasota Cars and Coffee. “Since moving the show to UTC, we have more than doubled the size to about 500 show cars per month. It’s been very rewarding to see how the event has grown over the years and the positive impact it’s making on the community.”
