Women On The Scene

Strategic Marketing & PR at Robyn Levin Media
“Quite literally, I had to find my edge at age two,” jokes Robyn Levin, who began a skating career early and dreamed of being a competitive skater. When she had the opportunity to audition for the Ice Capades or attend college, she chose a marketing degree at Temple University. After a corporate sales career at DHL, she became an entrepreneur. Robyn purchased a (bankrupt) 40,000-square-foot ice skating arena and quickly convinced the Florida Panthers to sign a five-year lease to use it as a practice facility.
Being an entrepreneur taught Robyn to seek and leverage strategic partnerships. She also learned the power of stories to make people listen and care.
Eventually, Robyn sold the arena and moved to San Francisco to launch a digital marketing company “because I felt there was something big booming there. It turned out to be the internet, and I wanted to be involved.” For 12 years, she worked with top West Coast companies and entrepreneurs. With her help, financial services company PENSCO Trust tripled their business to $3 billion in less than three years.
But Robyn moved back to Florida to be closer to family, and Robyn Levin Media came with her. “I was a digital nomad years before that became a term,” she explains. She designed her business so she could do it anywhere. “All I needed was Wi-Fi and a waterfront view,” she says, which Sarasota certainly delivers.
Robyn serves as a Marketing/PR strategy consultant for purpose-driven entrepreneurs, nonprofits and travel brands. She also offers a free online course (PR-Course101.com) where attendees can learn techniques to improve brand awareness.
“People are chasing platforms, but it’s the message that really matters.” Robyn should know, with her clients appearing on The Today Show and in the pages of The New York Times and Money Magazine.
