Known as one of the world’s most influential thought leaders and for his award-winning book, The Rise of the Creative Class, Richard Florida will speak at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, in Bradenton on the economic promise for the future and where cities are going post-pandemic. The event is open to the public and will take place on Wednesday, April 27, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in SCF’s Neel Performing Arts Center.
Florida, futurist and professor at the University of Toronto, will take the stage at the 2022 Regional Economic Summit to share his insights on the future of our collective urban landscape. The event is sponsored by the Bradenton Area Economic Development Corporation in partnership with the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, the City of Bradenton and SCF.
“A vibrant city center is a key asset for a community, and the Bradenton area is poised to deliver on that promise,” said Sharon Hillstrom, Bradenton Area EDC president and CEO. “Richard Florida is able to galvanize people’s thinking about the power of creativity and place-making. We’re excited to bring his insights to our community as we continue to implement the EDC’s multi-year strategy for economic development.”
